I am incredibly proud of all that’s been accomplished over the last 10 years of owning and operating a business in Guelph that has become an established respected brand. I helped make a meaningful impact in our community while at the same time tripling gross sales. Being part of an entirely women owned medical clinic we established best practices and standards in our industry. ArtMed won multiple awards from within the community it served, and from the businesses we partnered with who recognized our leadership. I worked with some of the industry’s biggest and best brands and companies — from Allergan to Xcite (to name a few) and have made some invaluable connections along the way. I forged relationships with change makers and leaders who continue to impact and inspire me.

The last 10 years, including the two years of the pandemic have challenged and changed me. It’s changed how I think, how I define work, and forced me to look deep into myself to unearth what is truly important. I now examine thoroughly where I choose to invest my time. My journey has made me question why I get up in the morning, and where I put my energy. I keep the 7 Regrets of the Dying close to my desk as a reminder of how I want to live my life – a life true to myself and not anyone else’s expectations of me.

I don’t yet know what is next for me. But I will take what I have learned from my experience as an actress, a teacher, an entrepreneur, a clinic owner, a COO, a system-challenger, a mother of 3 young adult children navigating a post pandemic world, and an empathetic leader, towards wherever my path is headed. There is so much that can be done in this wonderfully complicated world to make it a better place for everyone. It will take all of us working collectively — intentionally and inclusively — in big and small ways to make meaningful progress, and I intend to be a part of the process.
